Update: Highway 6 Reopens Following Cement Truck Fire

[ad_1]

Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Chief Jack Burt says a cement truck caught on fire this morning along Highway 6 in Ferndale.

Burt says they responded to the blaze around 8 a.m. this morning and put it out around 11 a.m.

Burt says no one was injured, but the truck is a total loss.

Burt says the fire appeared to start in the engine and spread to the rest of the vehicle.

Emergency services were on the scene and Burt says they requested a tanker from South Bruce Peninsula Fire to assist with the blaze, but were later told to stand down.

Burt says Highway 6 has reopened after being closed for a number of hours while emergency services responded to the fire.
