AHMEDABAD: The city civic body fined the contractor engaged by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) for the Bullet train project Rs 50 lakh, for damaging a 1,600mm water pipeline at Keshavnagar near the RTO.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s water and sewerage committee on Monday approved a proposal to penalize the contractor. The committee said that the contractor had damaged the main trunk pipeline which resulted in a disruption of supply for a day in parts of the West Zone. The damage also caused a loss of lakhs of litres of potable water.
