2 men held for railway ticket fraud | Delhi News

New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested two men who allegedly duped people by impersonating as railway ticket checkers and promising that they would get tickets confirmed. The accused also fled with passengers’ belongings after taking them for “safekeeping”.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar Mehto (38), a resident of Loni, and Kamlesh Kumar (22), a resident of Shakurpur. Mehto was previously involved in two cheating cases.
DCP (northeast) Sanjay Kumar Sain said Ranveer Kumar, a resident of Bihar, told police that he, along with his brother-in-law, was befriended on the Metro by one of the accused. The accused took them to Sonia Vihar to confirm their tickets and introduced an aide as a TTE.
Mehto was arrested on Sunday, and Kumar on Tuesday. The stolen ATM cards, mobile phones and gold rings were seized from Kumar. TNN
