Hyderabad: Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said direct employment to 99,812 people and indirect employment to 2,99,607 people would be generated as per Expression of Interest (EoI) applications received for food processing zones.
Replying to a question in Telangana Legislative Council here, he said as many as 1,496 EOI applications were received covering 32 districts. As per choice of applicants of EoI, detailed project reports (DPRs) would be obtained.
The land allotments will be done based on scrutiny and viability of the projects.
Stating that quality testing labs would also be established, Rama Rao said a food map of Telangana was prepared. He added that reforms were introduced in agriculture and its allied sectors.
