The State Assembly on Thursday passed the Odisha University of Technology and Research Bill 2021. With this, the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar, shall now be upgraded to a State Unitary University. After establishment of university, it shall be named as Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR). The objectives behind setting up of university are to provide facilities for graduate and post-graduate, PhD education besides researches in field of Engineering, Science and Technology, including IT, Architecture and Management etc., to serve as a centre for fostering co-operation and interaction between academic and research community and industry; organise exchange programmes with other institutions in India and abroad to keep abreast of latest developments in relevant areas of teaching and research.
