AYUSH launches week long yoga training program to celebrate ‘International Day of yoga-2021’ – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News

Bandipora: The Department of Ayush (ISM) District Bandipora has launched a week-long yoga program series as part of celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga, 2021.

District Nodal Officer ISM Dr Reyaz Ahmad Khan said that the aim of organizing the programme is to make Yoga accessible to as many people as possible, even in the constraints during the pandemic, to generate awareness on Yoga and Yogic practices, mobilization of Public to adopt Yogic Practices for health and wellbeing through various Digital and social media platforms.

Dr. Khan said that the present resurgence of COVID-19 Pandemic has added stress and anxiety among the people as the disease and isolation are not only affecting patient’s physical health but also taking a toll on their psychological or emotional health. As such the key objective of conducting such program series is to create awareness among the masses to attain peace, harmony and well-being through yoga practices, he added .

While giving details about the week-long programme, the District Nodal Officer said an online yoga session in collaboration with Youth services and sports department Bandipora is being organised on daily basis since Monday and will continue till 21st of June 2021.

He said the session shall be attended by more than hundred participants including Medical officers, paramedics, of Ayush department and Physical Education teachers, REK, Sports persons and officers/ officials of different departments of district Bandipora. The session is conducted by trained yoga instructors of the department.

Dr Khan said the department is also conducting offline sessions at community levels, local panchayats and at AYUSH Health and wellness Centre Nadihal and AYUSH Health and wellness Centre Kehnoosa on daily basis to make people aware about benefits of yoga in life style disorders like diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular disorders, obesity, arthritis etc.

He said the department also intends to launch various promotional and awareness video documentaries regarding Utility of Yoga in the prevalent health crises and various other health challenges of day to day life, demonstrating health promotion and disease prevention aspects of Yoga, like Yoga for prevention of Covid-19, Yoga for Covid Care, Yoga for life style disorders, Yoga for respiratory disorder, Yoga for mental health, Suryanamaskar- Techniques and health benefits, Shatkarma- Techniques and health benefits are being uploaded on social media like Facebook , Instagram, youtube, etc of AYUSH Department Bandipora.

He said various fun activities focusing students and youth like, slogan competition, jingle competition, asana-pranayama competition, quiz competitions and essay writing competition at divisional level. Tentative schedule details and online registration links for such activities have been shared with the Chief education officer in order to involve a large number of students of different schools of Bandipora.
