Beneficiaries urged to register under CM’s Health Insurance Scheme | MorungExpress

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department has called upon beneficiaries to register under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) Nagaland which was initiated to alleviate financial hardships due to hospitalization expenses and to prevent inaccessibility to medical care on account of unaffordability, by providing free and cashless benefits for treatment of various ailments, to every citizen of the State. 

Citizens who are not Government Employees or Pensioners [CMHIS (EP)] or who are not beneficiaries under the AB PM-JAY or any other public funded health insurance scheme of the Government as well as non-dependant family members of CMHIS (EP) categories are covered under CMHIS (GEN). Employees without PIMS number, contractual, adhoc, fixed pay employees of the State Government and contractual employees under various Central Sector Schemes (CSS), and their household members are also covered under CMHIS (GEN) category.

Every CMHIS (GEN) beneficiary household shall be entitled to Rs 5 lakh health insurance cover per year, the premium for which will be paid by the State Government. Beneficiaries under CMHIS (GEN) category will be entitled to more than 1950 medical and surgical packages across 27 major clinical specialties as well as entitlement to General Ward, similar to AB PM-JAY. The benefits can be availed across the country from more than 28000 hospitals empanelled under AB PM-JAY.

Registering and obtaining a Card by every beneficiary is required to avail the benefits under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS).  Beneficiaries can either self-register or register through any of the Registration Centres. The online registration service can be accessed at https://cmhis.nagaland.gov.in.

To facilitate registration of beneficiaries and card issuance, Registration Centres have been set up in various Government Establishments (DC Office, District Offices of different Departments) and Health Facilities (District Hospital, CHCs, PHCs) as well as in Common Service Centres, UTIITSL and other BIS Partners.

Further, Special Enrolment Drive is being organised across the State with an aim to expedite saturation of the scheme (beneficiary registration & card issuance). The schedule of the Special Enrolment Drive will be sent to the Village Council/ Town Wards from respective Deputy Commissioners. The district wise schedule for the Special Enrolment Drive is available at https://cmhis.nagaland.gov.in.

The department informed that for CMHIS (GEN) beneficiaries having NFSA Ration Card, registration in the State Beneficiary Portal is not required. Such beneficiaries can directly obtain the Ayushman CMHIS Card following Aadhaar based eKYC collection from NHA BIS Portal at https://setu.pmjay.gov.in

CMHIS (GEN) beneficiaries without NFSA Ration Card are to obtain Ayushman CMHIS Card after Aadhaar based eKYC collection from NHA BIS Portal at https://setu.pmjay.gov.in using the Household ID (HH ID) generated following verification and approval
