Bihar Govt Making Plan To Widen Roads To Tackle Jam Issues

The Bihar government is making a new plan to get rid of the road jams for the people of the state. Under this scheme, the roads of the city will be widened. Along with this, the plan to build flyovers on narrow roads will also be implemented soon. 

The scheme predicts all major district roads to be widened in a phased manner. There are 15,273 km of major district roads under the road construction department.

A one-lane road will be converted into an intermediate lane, while the intermediate lane will be converted into a two-lane road. At the same time, the roads which are of two lanes but still there is a problem of jam. Such roads will also be widened. Apart from this, such roads which are narrow but due to land acquisition, road widening cannot be done. Consideration will be given to the construction of flyovers on these roads.

The government has asked the engineers for information about such roads where the pressure of vehicles has increased in recent days. Along with this, answers have also been sought regarding the problems related to road widening. It has also been said that if there is encroachment on the land available for road widening, then it should be vacated in coordination with the district administration. However, many roads in the state have been widened over the years.
