You will provide high quality curatorial administration support including developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets, preparing proposals, reports and correspondence. Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Assisting the Senior Curator with the research, development and implementation of displays and exhibitions.
  • Contributing to the safekeeping, maintenance, access and development of the Collection, including undertaking cataloguing duties, preparing proposals and reports and accurately following processes relating to acquisitions and donations and related administration.
  • Researching, collating and drafting content and interpretation for use in labels, publications, marketing materials, resources, exhibitions and programs, in consultation with the Senior Curator.
  • Researching, preparing, and delivering or assisting with programs and events related to the Collection and exhibitions as required, in consultation with relevant staff.
  • Ensuring the maintenance and collation of verbal, written and statistical records and assisting with reports and proposals.

 

To be successful you will have a tertiary qualification in Fine Arts or equivalent, coupled with direct or transferrable experience in administration and project management (i.e., exhibitions, collections or events), publishing or research within a related setting desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of the history and development of Fashion and Textiles and a sound knowledge of the creative industries is highly desirable.
