PORT SANILAC, MI — A Carsonville man was uninjured after crashing a truck into the Port Sanilac Harbor.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, Sanilac County Central Dispatch said a 9-1-1 call was received reporting a single-vehicle crash at the Port Sanilac Harbor. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officials with Port Sanilac Fire/Rescue and Sanilac EMS responded.

Investigators determined a 24-year-old Carsonville man was eastbound on Port Sanilac’s Main Street in a 2010 Ford F-150 when he drove through the guard rail at the end of Main Street, through a power box that powered the Port Sanilac Harbor and struck a dock before crashing into the water.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Officials are withholding the man’s name while the crash investigation is ongoing.
