The province of Cebu is looking for at least 1,000 job seekers that will fill their shortage of workforce in the hospitality line of business.
This was announced on Wednesday, Sept. 14, by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco after the successful launch of the first leg of the “Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism” job fair in Cebu City.
Frasco said the 1,000 job orders will be deployed to the hotel and resort sectors.
DOT Region 7 Chief tourism operations officer Judy Dela Cruz-Gabato also thanked the full support from the stakeholder, especially private businesses who graced the opening of the job exposition.
“Now with this collaborative effort of the national government and, of course, our Local Government Units, the private sector, the DOT is very optimistic that the Philippines, particularity Cebu, can claim its position on the global space, jobs will be regained, and tourism-related enterprises will bounce back stronger than ever, sooner rather than later,” said Gabato.
Gabato also advised the interested tourism establishments and job seekers to coordinate with the DOT Region 7 – Tourism Regulation Accreditation Division at telephone number 254-2811 and email address [email protected] for further details.
