Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Recruitment 2022: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and waterways has invited applications from officers of the All India Services/ Central Services/ Union Territory Administration/ Major ports for the post of Deputy Chairperson in Chennai Port Authority and Deputy Chairperson for the Post in Paradip Port Authority. Any person, who on the date of his appointment to the office of the Deputy Chairperson of the Board of a Major Port Authority is in the service of the Central or a State Government or a Union territory Administration or a Major port shall, during the period he holds such office, continue to receive his salary, allowances and other benefits in accordance with the rules applicable to him under that service. The port Authorities are Autonomous Bodies governed under the Major Port Authorities Act, of 2021.

All the applicants must register themselves in the online Applications portal (OAP) http://onlinevacancy.shipment.nic.in. A copy/ printout of the OAP application needs to be forwarded to the Ministry. The application of the eligible candidates along with all requisite documents may be so as to reach. this Ministry on or before 30.12.2022. However, advanced copies of the application forwarded directly through email/ received before the due date of submission will be taken into consideration. Qualification for Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Recruitment 2022

For Deputy Chairperson for the Post in Chennai Port Authority:

The officers belonging to All India Services/Central Services/ Union Territory Administration who have put in not less than 13 years of regular service in Group-A,are eligible to be considered for the post

(a) Officer having an experience of a minimum:
(i) 2 years as Deputy Chairperson in Category-ll port; OR

(ii) 6 years combined service as Head of Department or above level post in any Major Port Authority (provided that the officer has rendered at least I year’s regular service as Deputy Chairperson in Category II port); OR

(iii) 9 years as Head of the department of any Major port Authority.

The employees of Kamarajar Port Limited holding equivalent posts with corresponding pay scales and length of service will be eligible for consideration.

For Deputy Chairperson for the Post in Paradip Port Authority:

The officers belonging to All India Services/Central Services/ Union Territory Administration who have put in not less than 9 years of service in Group A, eligible to be considered are officers selected for the post.

An officer having an experience of a minimum of five years as Head of Department of any Port Authority.

The employees of Kamarajar Port. Limited holding equivalent posts with corresponding pay scale and length of service will be eligible for Consideration

Tenure for Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Recruitment 2022:

The post is not a part of the Central Staffing Scheme. It will be on a deputation basis for a period of 5 years.
