Chhattisgarh’s 30 Stations To Be Refurbished Under Amrit Bharat, ET Infra

RAIPUR: As many as 49 stations, including the 30 from Chhattisgarh, of South East Central Railway (SECR) are covered under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aimed at the modernisation and development of stations. A total of 1275 railway stations across India will be modernised and developed under scheme of ministry of railways, Government of India.

Stations of Madhya Pradesh under SECR that will be modernised are Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Bijuri, Balaghat, Chandafort, Seoni and Chhindwara. Stations in Maharashtra are Gondia, Bhandara Road, Nainpur, Itwari , Kamthi, Mandlafort, Tumsar Road, Vadsa and Amgaon. Brajrajnagar, Belpahar of Odisha will be modernised.

SECR will try to improve all important passenger centric aspects under the scheme, said the SECR officials.

The main focus will be on improving access to stations, providing free Wi-Fi, better waiting rooms and toilets, as well as better information systems for passengers at station.

The roads near the station will be widened by removing encroachments and other structures.
