Gandhinagar, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel while inaugurating the famous IBM Software Labs in Gift City, Gandhinagar expressed a clear opinion that Gujarat has set a benchmark in digital transformation in the Digital India Mission given by the Prime Minister.

In this context he said, IBM’s software lab which is operatng in Gift City, a dream project of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will provide new strength in preparing skilled manpower in Gujarat for cloud and artificial intelligence.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the IBM software lab which is functioning in Prestige Tower of Gift City in the presence of the Minister of Science and Technology Shri  Jitu Vaghani, Senior Vice President of IBM Tom Rosamilia and Nickle LaMoreaux.

Gujarat is all set to contribute with Skill Based Learning to realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s aim to make this decade Techade-Technology by relying on the IT power the youth possesses. The Chief Minister said.

Chief Minister further added that before the discussions or talks related to Digital India took place Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat laid a strong foundation of technology based e-governance in the state.

He said that this government has made a new IT and ITeS policy in Gujarat under the guidance of the Prime Minister. Through this policy, we aim to create a favourable environment for the development of the IT ecosystem in the state, Chief Minister added.

The Chief Minister said that the target for eight times more development of the IT sector in Gujarat has been set. Gujarat has developed such a strong IT infrastructure that it keeps a smile on the face of everyone who comes to Gujarat for investments in this sector and gives them an impression of ease of doing business.

He expressed his commitment to realize the vision from self-reliant Gujarat to self-reliant India through significant contributions in the IT sector during this Amrit Kaal to fulfill the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India.

Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj kumar gave the background about the dimensions of IT and ITeS Policy, IT Enabled Services, Transparent and Digital Governance are being successfully implemented in Gujarat under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.

Tom Rosamilia of IBM expressed his gratitude for the support of the Government of Gujarat and expressed his hope for the success of his business ventures with Gujarat and India.

Managing Director Shri Sandip Patel said that Gujarat has shown the way in ICT infrastructure and has received extensive investments in this sector, now IBM has been added to it in accomplishing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s mantra of  IT+IT=IT.

Gift City MD Shri Tapan Ray and Science Technology Secretary Shri Vijay Nehra assured full support from Gift city as well as from state government for IBM.

Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar, Managing Director of IBM/India South Asia Region Shri Sandip Patel, Chiarman of Gift City Shri Sudhir Mankad, MD( Managing Director) Shri Tapan Ray and Secretary Science Technology Shri Vijay Nehra and invitees participated in this occasion.
