Cloudshelf, a company specializing in B2B SaaS services, launched its eponymous cloud retail platform in London after trials in London and Paris, according to a press release.
The system uses digital displays to bring a store’s web content directly to in-shop consumers. The system integrates with Shopify and can allow consumers to preview goods or to see a store’s full stock beyond what is on the shelves, along with ordering items from the store’s website.
Testers also singled out the preview capacity of the system, particularly with clothing sales.

“Having Cloudshelf in-store is helpful as our physical store is small and it means we can share a larger range of our shoes to in-store customers,” Lizzie Darby, founder of Made-The-Edit, said in the release. “We often use the Cloudshelf to showcase different variants of our shoe range before the customer asks to try the shoe on, and they then decide to buy. It has assisted us with closing many sales over the last year.”

“At a time when the cost of living crisis has impacted consumers’ ability to spend, it becomes even more vital for retailers to ensure they don’t lose out on a sale,” Giles Corbett, founder and CEO of Cloudshelf, said in the release. “We are enabling independent and scale-up retailers to digitize the in-store experience at a fraction of the cost paid by larger brands. Displaying a retailer’s full inventory of products in an intuitive and easy-to-manage service ensures that consumers can find and order the products they want, eliminating the walk-out effect and increasing the sales a retailer can make.”
