Coimbatore: A large number of students and the public thronged the PSG College of Technology on Friday to see the vintage cars that were on display as part of the 15th edition of Coimbatore Vizha.
The vintage car exhibition would conclude on Sunday. The entry is free. The college students, meanwhile, celebrated the Pongal festival wearing traditional attires and conducting traditional games.
A talent show was conducted at the Kumaraguru College of Technology as part of the event on the day. Several students participated in the programme. A panel of judges evaluated their performances and the winners would be announced soon.
The day also featured a bird watching event that was organized by the Coimbatore Nature Society at Perur Sundakkamuthur lake. Various other events – traditional cooking competition at the Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, technology tour for school kids at the Avinashilingam Institute campus II and a cultural dance by Shree Natya Niketan and Porsabai academy at Sharadambal Temple at Race Course – were also organized on the day. tnn
