Vadodara: The road contractors will have to again make a road at free cost if any damage happens to its quality during the guarantee period of 5 years. This rule has been applied to 115 newly built roads under Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) in Vadodara city. VMC has also put the list of 115 roads on the website for the common public.
VMC has constructed 115 new roads in the city through contractors. The tender of the roads clearly stated that the contractor of the road will have to make the road again at free cost during the guarantee period, if the damages such as pits, or bumps occur. If any department of VMC digs the road without permission, then that department will have to make a road as per the original specifications.
If any private contractor or agency digs the road without permission to install cables or underground lines during the guarantee period of the road, then VMC will recover the cost from the responsible agency. The 115 roads in the city have a guarantee of 5 years. The maximum guarantee period is till 4th December 2027. DeshGujarat
