Diabetes Healthcare Research Centre inaugurated at Porompat – The Sangai Express

IMPHAL, Jan 29: A brand new diabetes treatment centre “Diabetes Healthcare Research Centre” located along JNIMS Road, near Punjab & Sind Bank, Porompat was inaugurated today with a ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.
Dignitaries present at the event include Wangkhemcha Shamjai, president, All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union AMWJU; AC Jayenta, member, Imphal International airport Advisory Committee; Dr M Dhanabir Singh, National and International awardee and Managing Director of Diabetes Healthcare Research Centre; Dr Y Amumacha Singh, authorized Central Government practitioner (Homeopathy) RMO; Dr M Malemsana (Naturopathy) and Khaba Paonam, health and nutrition coach.
Speaking on the occasion, Wangkhemcha Shamjai highlighted the importance of timely treatment of diabetes stating that if allowed to progress without any check, it can pose serious health risks to people.
Maintaining that the Centre will use natural remedies approved by the Ministry of Ayush, he exuded confidence that the Centre will be able to provide a multitude of benefits to the people.
Dr M Dhanabir Singh also addressed the gathering and  stated that in the present day, diabetes has become a global disease with respect to its prevalence across the world.
In an attempt to help combat this disease, the Diabetes Healthcare Research Centre has been established, he shared. Further, he stated that the Centre was equipped with five beds, four nurses and a pharmacist.
