Director Agriculture visits various areas of Shopian; inaugurates High Tech Poly House at Pinjoora – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News

SHOPIAN : The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of Shopian and inaugurated High Tech Poly House at Pinjoora besides two Community Bore Wells at Safanagri.

On the occasion, the Director formally initiated the sowing operations of different vegetable crops of peas in 10 Kanals of land at Safanagri Shopian and was briefed by the concerned technical officers regarding the latest seedling production techniques that would be provided to the farmers by using the hi-tech technology.

Addressing a large gathering of farmers, the Director reiterated the Department’s commitment to reach to the farmers of far flung areas. He instructed the officers to continue organizing awareness/ training programmes regarding different schemes and flagship programmes being implemented by the department for the development and prosperity of farmers of the region.

He said our goal is that every farmer on the field gets benefited by the schemes and flagship programmes of the department and contributes to the progress and prosperity of the agriculture sector in the district.

Iqbal said that the department is successfully providing seedlings of different vegetable crops to the farming community well in time and this process will continue in days to come.

He asked the officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farmers and asked the farmers to strictly follow the instructions and guidance provided to them by the Department experts.

Later, the Director visited the Heerpora area of the district where he met Tribal delegations and took feedback from them regarding the promotion of famous Heerpora potato cultivation. He said that the need of the hour is to give further impetus to Heerpora potato cultivation.

On the occasion, Vermic Compost and tool kits were also distributed among the people of the Tribal Community of Heerpora, Chotipora and Sedow.

During his visit, the Director interacted with the vegetable Growers of Zainapora and other adjacent villages and took on spot feedback regarding various interventions introduced by the Department and adopted by the farmers of the area.

At Babapora, Zainpora, he took stock of ongoing development works of Demonstration Cum Training Centre (DCTC) and stressed for completing it within the stipulated time frame.

Later, the Director took a review of the agriculture sector in the district.

Director was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer, Shopian, Farooq Ahmed; Potato Development Officer, BDCs, PRIs and other senior officers of the district.
