A MAN who was stuck under a cement mixer after a crash on the A41 was taken to hospital.

The incident happened between the Blackthorn Bridge at Marsh Gibbon and the junction with Piddington at just after 2pm yesterday (January 13).

A Renault yellow cement mixer lorry left the carriageway and crashed into a grass ditch.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his thirties, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services helped the trapped man.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact Thames Valley Police quoting reference number 43230018783.
