eBay Buys eCommerce Firm myFitment


EBay has bought myFitment, which offers software tools to sellers of automotive and powersports parts and accessories, a press release said.

MyFitment’s helps drive sales and avoid expensive returns by optimizing fitment data for listings, so customers can order the right parts and accessories.

The acquisition will bolster eBay’s parts and accessories categories and “offer an added layer of confidence for buyers by simplifying how they navigate inventory to find parts that fit their vehicle,” according to Chris Prill, VP, eBay Motors.

Brian Williams, chief operating officer, myFitment, said being bought by eBay would be a boon for its business.

“We founded myFitment to help online parts and accessory sellers use technology to better connect with their customers, increase their sales, and grow their businesses,” he said. “EBay is one of the leading platforms in the world for people looking to start or grow their online business, and I can think of no better partner to help bring our technology to more of the vehicle and motorsport businesses and enthusiasts we have served for nearly 10 years.”

EBay also recently bought digital trading card marketplace TCGplayer for $295 million, PYMNTS wrote.

The agreement will let TCGplayer operate independently from its headquarters in Syracuse, New York, and Chedy Hampson, founder and CEO, will keep running the company.

The deal will add to eBay’s capabilities to cater to trading card enthusiasts, and it will enhance omnichannel capabilities like order fulfillment and cart optimization to improve the user experience.

Dawn Block, VP of Collectibles at eBay, said the company “has always fueled our customers’ passion in this space and facilitated connections between buyers and sellers, and with TCGplayer, we can enhance the customer experience across categories, forge even more relationships, and cater to enthusiasts around the world.”
