Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan calls for developing Odisha as manufacturing hub of semiconductors

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has called for developing Odisha as a manufacturing hub of semiconductors.

Participating in a program through virtual mode, the Minister said this is possible due to the abundance of silica and fresh water in the state.

AIR correspondent reports, Speaking on the occasion of provisioning of mobile towers in about 4000 villages in 10 aspirational districts of Odisha and 272 new post offices in the state, Mr. Pradhan said, this is part of Prime Minister’s Purvodaya vision that will expedite development in the state.

Gracing the occasion in capital Bhubaneswar, the Union Railways communications, Electronics and information technology Minister Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw said, the provisioning of mobile towers in the backward districts of the states will address the issue of internet connectivity thereby enhancing the scope of direct benefit transfers to the beneficiaries of these areas along with multiple other benefits.

Later, the union railway minister flagged off the Puri Hatia Puri Tapaswini express with Rajasthani-like coaches along with Union Education Minister Mr. Pradhan who attended the programme through virtual mode.
