Entertainment company secures £15k Start-Up Loan | Midlands Deals News

Nottinghamshire-based The Rockets Collective, which provides entertainment for functions such as weddings and corporate events, has secured a £15,000 loan that will allow it to drive forward its growth plans.

The company, which provides its services across the UK and internationally, was established by Thomas Wyman who runs the business independently and hand-picks musicians and technicians to perform at each booking.

The loan comes as the business continues to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which caused cancellations and postponements.

Additionally, the company struggled to expand as it was unable to transport extra equipment to shows.

The Start-Up Loan from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans through the Start-Up Loans Scheme backed by British Business Bank, will allow Wyman to purchase a new van alongside lifting equipment and promotional material.

Wyman said: “Thanks to the support from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, I can take my business to the next level by investing in marketing – whilst improving the quality of our performance with new equipment and transport. Nabeel was very diligent when working on my application and provided help every step of the way.”

Nabeel Akhter, business adviser at First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, said: “With restrictions now lifted and events back in full swing and thanks to the funding we provided, The Rockets Collective is perfectly geared up to provide quality entertainment.

“What I liked about the business model is that it offers a fantastic variety of excellent artists which can be suited to fit the clients taste. I have every confidence that the business will succeed and wish Thomas all the best.”

Richard Bearman, managing director small business lending, British Business Bank, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic hit so many businesses hard within the events and entertainment industries so to see The Rockets Collective back on its feet and pushing forward with plans and expansion is exactly why these loans are available to businesses. The British Business Bank is pleased to see Thomas and his business thrive and we look forward to seeing this continued success.”
