“I was looking for growth. It’s not about how much work you have done. It’s about what more? What next? And I felt a little stagnated, and I wanted to do more. I needed to take that next step, and so I did. A lot is happening here,” Fernandes says while explaining the thought behind her decision.

Here, the Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actor shares, “Dubai has always been home, so I wouldn’t say it’s moving out of my comfort zone. My family is here, so the thought of living here didn’t make me feel apprehensive. However, I travel back and forth to India for my work commitments”.

It’s been several months since she shifted her base to Dubai, and her time in the new place has been enriching.

“With many factors, Dubai is a beautiful place. It’s a global hub where we have various nationalities under one roof. We get to learn about different world cultures by living in one country. The infrastructure is phenomenal. My experience has been outstanding for the past few months as a resident,” mentions the 30-year-old, adding, “It is always a learning process, and when you move to another country, it is like learning all over again, and the adventures are very different”.

She might have shifted her base to Dubai, but she intends to continue her professional career in India. In fact, she travels quite often to India for work.

“I have been doing that smoothly until now, and I guess it’s faster for me to reach from Dubai to Mumbai on set than from Goregaon to Naigaon,” she says on a lighter note.

But does staying in Dubai mean that she will refrain from taking projects which require long-term commitment?

“Never say never, but I did make a deliberate effort not to take up something long-term as I wanted to explore different spaces that had room for performance and is short term,” says the actor, who will soon be seen in an OTT show.
