Ex-‘Love Island’ contestant Priya Gopaldas slams show for lack of Asians

Priya Gopaldas, a former contestant on ITV2’s ‘Love Island’ has slammed the show for the lack of South Asian representation.

Gopaldas, who took part in the 2021 edition posted on her Instagram story, “Love Island, where is the South Asian representation?”

In her subsequent story, she shared a graphic from the 2021 Census with a breakdown of ethnicities in the UK. She said, “It’s impossible to represent every ethnicity. Asians make up the 2nd highest proportion of the UK population so should be represented appropriately.”
