AG Mark Dreyfus gets a dixer on the National Anti-Corruption Commission, which the House has been debating.

“Corruption has a corrosive impact on society. It undermines democracy, it erodes public trust in Government. The Albanese government knows that tackling corruption means more than just investigating corruption, it means working to prevent corruption from occurring in the first place,” he replied.

Dreyfus said the former Morrison government was punished at the ballot box for failing to deliver on its previous promise to set one up. Manager of opposition business Paul Fletcher argues Dreyfus is outside the terms of the question, and the AG continues.

“The people voted for a national government that had an actual plan and an actual commitment.”
