Fresh breakout in Nifty, Sensex – Thursday Closing Report

We had mentioned in Wednesday’s closing report that Nifty and Sensex dip in the last hour. On Thursday, the indices opened gap up, and ended with gain to close around record highs. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,935 stocks advanced, 1,570 declined, and 130 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.23. 

 

The trend of the major indices on Thursday’s trading are given in the table below:

 

 

On NSE, 63 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 51 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty Consumer Durables was the loser whereas Nifty IT and Nifty Financial Services were the biggest gainer. The broader market indices underperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small Cap gaining 0.5% and 0.4% respectively. Nifty Bank touched new record high.

 

Rupee ended at 81.63/$ as compared to 81.85/$ on Wednesday.

 

ICIC Bank will acquire 10% stake in JV (joint venture) of IOC and Chennai Petro for Rs 50,000. ICICI Prudential will acquire 9% stake in the JV for Rs 45,000. HDFC Life will invest Rs55,000 for 11% stake.

 

Insider Buying and Selling, Lagnam Spintex promoters bought 41,640 shares through open market. Shakti Pumps (India) promoters bought 27,000 shares through open market. Geojit Financial Services promoters sold 237,000 shares through open market. Geojit Financial Services Immediate relative bought 64,000 shares through open market. Usha Martin Education and Solutions promoters sold 194,732 shares through open market. Vaxtex Cotfab promoters sold 433,848 shares through open market.

 

In large trades, Alembic Pharma’s 0.16% equity changed hands at Rs600 per share. PB Fintech’s 1.6% equity changed hands at Rs401 per share. Delhivery’s 0.44% equity changed hands at Rs327 per share.

 

KPI Green will consider proposal for bonus issue on 30 Nov. The stock closed almost 6% higher.

 

Easy Trip closed more than 1% higher as the company is looking to consider a proposal of acquisition on 1 Dec.

 

Keystone Developers listed at a premium of 2.6% at Rs555 per share as compared to Rs541per share.

 

Hemisphere Properties ended 5% on the back of heavy volumes. RVNL touched all time high and closed more than 5% higher.
