HOBOKEN, NJ – A collision in Hoboken earlier today remains under investigation, as a vehicle reportedly knocked over a bicycle and its riders at the intersection of 4th & Jackson Streets.
Just after 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, Police responded to a call that initially came in as hit-and-run with a pedestrian. However, officers arrived on the scene to discover that the incident involved a vehicle and bicycle. The vehicle reportedly struck the front tire of a bike being driven by a woman with a 5-year-old child riding on the back.
Initial reports indicate that the bike went through the stop sign. The vehicle did not strike either person, yet made contact with the tire and the bike fell over. The driver reportedly left the scene, but it remains unclear if there was any further interaction with the cyclist. Witnesses have provided license plate information to HPD, who have indicated that the vehicle is registered to a driver in Hoboken.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
