By Divya Bhati: Reliance Jio and Airtel are reaching out with their 5G services to more and more Indian cities. The two telecom giants are planning to complete the roll out pan India within two years to provide its customers best speed and fifth generation network benefits. However, India’s third largest telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) is lagging behind the race. Vodafone Idea has not announced any launch date for 5G services and according to reports the company may be a bit late due to funding issues. So, if you’re Vi users and want to use 5G services then you can wait a bit or port your SIM to Jio and Airtel.

Vi users can easily switch from Vodafone to Jio or Airtel while retaining their mobile number. Mobile Number Portability (MNP) of Vi SIM is available on all networks and the process is online and easy. However, it should be noted that porting numbers within the same telecom operator takes around 3 days for validation while porting to different operators will take up to 5 working days.

Let’s take a detailed look on how to port your existing Vi SIM to Jio or Airtel.
