HSSC organizes convocation ceremony of Skilled Healthcare Professionals

Jammu Tawi: In a first of its kind approach, Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) recently organized a convocation ceremony of Skilled
Healthcare Professionals at the India Habitat Centre. The event was held to award graduation certificates to more than 100 candidates under
the Covid Frontline Workers courses.
The Covid Frontline Workers (CFW) courses were launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, given the significance of these
job roles in the nation’s fight against Covid 19. The new job roles included in the project were Covid Frontline worker (Basic Care Support), Covid
Frontline worker (Sample Collection Support), COVID Frontline Worker (Emergency Care Support) and COVID Frontline Worker (Advanced Care
Support).
Present on the occasion was Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, as the chief guest who
addressed the gathering and the aspirants with an emphasis on skill certification along with school education. He guided the audience to be
focused on their areas of interest and grow with confidence in life. He awarded certificates to more than 100 graduating candidates at the event.
Sharing his thoughts about the importance of such skill certification courses, Mr Ashish Jain, CEO, Healthcare Sector Skill Council said “It is
the need of the hour to strengthen the healthcare system of our country by creating a pool of trained manpower. This requirement of trained and
skilled workforce became important during the pandemic which resulted into development of Covid Frontline Workers job roles by HSSC.
More than 500 candidates were trained by the training partners at Valeur Fabtex Pvt Ltd, Max Healthcare Institute, and Wipro GE Healthcare
Pvt Ltd. Assessment and certification were taken care of by the Healthcare Sector Skill Council under the Skill India campaign. Majority of these
candidates were placed successfully and the others were in the process of being facilitated for employment opportunities.
