Independent retail unites in honouring the Queen

The Proudfoot family of Scarborough-based Proudfoot supermarkets said on Twitter that it offered its “deepest condolences to the Royal Family, following the sad news about the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family, and we join all others who will be reflecting on her historic reign”.

Independent retailer Paul Cheema, of Malcolm’s in Coventry, simply said: “Rest in Peace Your Majesty.”

The One Stop franchise tweeted: “We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family, as we mourn the loss of our longest-serving British monarch. We are indebted to her dedicated service to this country.”

The same sentiment came from Spar Scotland, which said: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Sincere condolences to the Royal Family from everyone at Spar Scotland and CJ Lang & Son Ltd.”

Co-op chief executive Shirine Khoury-Haq said: “On behalf of Co-op UK, I would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, following the news about the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.”

Wholesale group JW Filshill said: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family at this difficult time.”
