Iran imports 14M tons of basic commodities in ports in 7 mon…

(MENAFN) According to reports by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), 13.997 million tons of basic goods were imported in the ports of the nation throughout the opening seven months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22).

As the PMO mentioned in a report, the number indicates 28 percent expansion in comparison with the amount of basic goods imported in the ports of the nation throughout the same span of time in the last year.

As earlier declared by the deputy chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran has shipped in 30.9 million tons of basic commodities in the last Iranian calendar year 1400 (closed on March 20).

Foroud Asgari, the deputy chief of IRICA for customs affairs, stated that the shipped in commodities were in 25 commodity groups.

Recording the worth of the shipped in basic goods at USD19.6 billion in the last year, the official stated that the imports indicate a 60 percent surge in value and 32 percent expansion in mass, in comparison with the Iranian calendar year 1399.
