Jay Leno’s Face Was Scorched In A LA Garage After His Automobile Caught Fire

Despite suffering “severe burns,” former “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno told Variety that he is doing fine after a gasoline fire. “I got some terrible burns from a gasoline fire,” Leno stated in a statement. I am ok. Only a few days or weeks of rest and I’ll be fine.

A fire broke out in Leno’s Los Angeles garage on Sunday, sending the talk show host to the hospital, as reported by TMZ. Leno apparently suffered burns to his face after one of the automobiles caught fire. Due to his wounds, Leno was sent to the Grossman Burn Center.

People magazine was the first to report on Leno‘s health issues. The comedian had to pull out of Sunday’s finance conference in Las Vegas citing a “severe medical issue.” Leno’s facial burns were not mentioned at the time.

An email sent out to guests explained that Jay could not make the trip because of a “very major medical problem,” albeit the family was “not able to tell us very many specifics.” Our only hope is that he is still alive, and we will be keeping him and his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers tonight.

Leno has been open about his battle with high cholesterol for a number of years now. Many of Leno’s admirers, misled by reports of a “severe medical emergency,” worried that he was suffering from a cholesterol-related illness. Leno advocated for regular cholesterol screenings in a video from this year.

There are a lot of ticking time bombs out there in the world now. You have a lot of cholesterol and won’t know how bad it is until it causes problems for you. The late night host Leno made the remark. One speck of dirt in the jet’s “eye of the needle” is all it takes to cut off gas flow, just like in a car. Also, that’s what happens to your heart.

After hosting “The Tonight Show” for NBC from 1992 until 2009, Leno took over for Johnny Carson. After Jay Leno’s departure to launch his own primetime talk show on NBC, Conan O’Brien took over “The Tonight Show.”

Poor viewership for both shows ultimately led to Leno’s return to “The Tonight Show” in March 2010, which became a notorious choice for NBC. Leno continued hosting the late-night show for another four years before finally leaving his post on February 6, 2014.

Jimmy Fallon has taken over the Tonight Show from Leno. In 2015, Jay Leno branched out from “The Tonight Show” to host his own series on CNBC called “Jay Leno’s Garage.” The 88 episodes across the show’s seven seasons add up to a lot.

At the end of October, the seventh season of “Jay Leno’s Garage” came to a close. When “You Bet Your Life” returned to television in 2021, Leno was named its new host.
