Ratnagiri, 6th November, 2022: Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (“KMBL”https://news.google.com/”Kotak”) announced its CSR association with All India Institute of Local Self-Government(AIILSG) to improve education quality and infrastructure development at five schools in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. Shri. Uday Samant, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Ministry of Industries, Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of Ratnagari and Raigad, inaugurated the CSR Project at the Damle School and Gandhi Urdu School. The inauguration

event was attended by Shri. Tushar Babar, CEO, Ratnagiri Municipal Council; Shri. Sunil Patil, Administrative Officer (Education Wing) and Ratnagiri Municipal Council, Ms. Swati, Sr. Programme Director, AIILSG and Kotak Mahindra Bank employees – Mr. Shenoj Thomas, Mr. Parikshit Masaram, Mr. Yogesh Karmarkar, Mr. Girish Shevade and Mr. Gajendra Dixit.

AIILSG is the implementing agency under KMBL’s CSR Project on Education & Livelihood that is working on infrastructure development and introducing digital learning technologies in the classrooms of five schools – Damale Vidyala, Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi School, Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad Vidyalaya, Patwardhan Vidya Mandir and Golap School. This CSR Project will benefit nearly 1,500 students from the five schools of Ratnagiri District.

R Vardharajan, Senior Executive Vice President, Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited said, “Kotak Mahindra Bank recognises the need to provide quality education to students from the underprivileged community including the students living in rural areas. Kotak along with AIILSG is making a sincere effort to provide safe and supportive learning environments to nearly 1,500 students of the five schools of Ratnagiri District. The CSR Project aims to decrease dropout rates, increase in retention rates and also improve teaching outcomes in schools”

Dr. Mukesh Kanaskar- Deputy Director General, All India Institute of Local Self-Government said, “All India Institute of Local Self-Government is committed to work for the holistic child development through its innovation like ‘Shikshan Ranjan Kendra’. Under Kotak Mahindra Bank’s CSR Project, AIILSG will train teachers to increase usage of the labs and prioritise remedial education along with

Shikshan Ranjan Kendra to help children in improving their basic academic skills. This CSR

project will also encourage parents to get involved in their child’s education and promote

edutainment activities in schools.”
