Local groups issue 7-day deadline for repair of roads ahead of Prez visit

MARGAO: The Janasena Warriors and Canacona Congress Parivar has served all the departments concerned with a seven-day ultimatum to begin repairing the roads in Canacona, ahead of the visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu for the taluka’s Lokotsav this year. 

   The groups submitted a memorandum to the authorities stating that all the roads in Canacona, including the NH 66, MDR, village roads, and beachside roads are in a pathetic condition. It stated that during the visit , many high profile officers of the Union government will come to Goa, and many national as well as international reporters will accompany them, making it essential to uphold the image of the taluka, and Goa as a whole.
