Localization rates of automobiles

On August 10, 2022, the Ministry of Science and Technology issues Circular No. 11/2022/TT-BKHCN on repealing a number of legal normative documents defining methods of determination of localization rates of automobiles.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Science and Technology repeals the following legal normative documents:

– Decision No. 28/2004/QD-BKHCN dated October 01, 2004, defining methods of determination of localization rates of automobiles;

– Decision No. 05/2005/QD-BKHCN dated May 11, 2005, on amending and supplementing the Decision No. 28/2004/QD-BKHCN dated October 01, 2004, defining methods of determination of localization rates of automobiles;

– Circular No. 05/2012/TT-BKHCN dated March 12, 2012, on amending and supplementing Article 1 of Decision No. 05/2005/QD-BKHCN dated May 11, 2005, on amending and supplementing Decision No. 28/2004/QD-BKHCN dated October 01, 2004, defining methods of determination of localization rates of automobiles.

This Circular takes effect on October 01, 2022.

The above legal normative documents are issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology with the aim to implement the “Strategy of automobiles development to 2010, with the vision to 2020” of the Prime Minister. 

After nearly 20 years of implementation, these regulations have been officially repealed to satisfy practical needs and general regional and international standards.

According to experts, this action is considered to be suitable with the development and changes in production and technology proceedings of automobile assembly in Vietnam and in the world.
