Madhya Pradesh: A shocking incident was reported from the Barwani area, when on November 10 a man was killed in a car accident. It was initially believed to be a simple accident case, but after a police inquiry, it was discovered to be a murder plotted by the victim’s son.

“On November 10, a complaint came to our police station that a person named Chhagan Pawar had perished in a road accident,” said Barwani Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Shukla.

A section 304A FIR was filed at the Sendhwa city police station based on the report.

‘In the beginning, it was thought to be an accident, but when our technical team investigated the crime and examined the cyber evidence, it was shown in the CCTV footage that the vehicle which caused the accident had been circling the spot for a long time,’ Deepak Kumar Shukla said.

The vehicle’s driver was arrested by Maharashtra police after further inquiry. The deceased’s son’s phone history was also obtained by the police. The police found that Chhagan Pawar’s son, Anil, had made a call to one of the accused before the accident.

Then, Anil was summoned for questioning. He apparently attempted to fabricate a tale at first, but as the police used a tough line of questioning, he allegedly admitted to paying individuals to kill his father in order to obtain insurance money.

Anil confessed his father had insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh

Anil confessed to the police that his father had a Rs. 10 lakh insurance policy, and that in order to obtain the money, he had paid three hitmen Rs. 2.5 lakh to kill him.

Anil also revealed to the police that his father used to walk every morning. Anil allegedly called the accused on the day of the event after his father had left for his morning stroll. After this, the accused laid in wait to ambush Chhagan Pawar with their pick-up vehicle, leading to his death.

All three accused, including Anil Pawar, have been held. The police have confiscated everything including the vehicle used to carry out the killing.
