Manufacturing Beer Illegally, Plant Seized In Kashmir






SRINAGAR:  Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday sealed an illegal beer manufacturing unit in Khanmoh area on Srinagar outskirts.

A police spokesman in a statement said that acting on specific information received from reliable sources that a factory registered in the name of M/S Zainab Textiles situated at Phase-2 Khunmoh is involved in illegal/unlawful activity of manufacturing/processing of Beer.

“Accordingly, a Police party of PS Panthachowk under the supervision of SDPO Panthachowk alongwith officials from Excise department, Revenue department and Food department raided the suspected spot,” said police spokesman in a statement.

He said that during search, large quantity of beer bottles was recovered and was accordingly seized on spot.

“The machine used in the manufacturing process has also been seized. In this regard a cased vide FIR No. 64/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Panthachowk and investigation has been initiated,” said the spokesman.
