What makes an automobile technology click with the consumer? It is the ability to woo the consumer without burning a hole in the pocket.Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are trying to achieve a similar feat with their hybrid SUVs — the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder, respectively. The mid-size SUVs will come in two avatars. While a strong hybrid model will use Toyota’s technology, a smart hybrid (read mild hybrid) version will run on Maruti Suzuki’s tech.
