In a regulatory filing, the company said: “customs department has alleged the company for evading custom duty amounting Rs 16,27,085 by wrong availment of BCD concession based on the end use of the imported goods.”
MSIL imports goods from foreign suppliers. On few items, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (the Company) has claimed Basic Customs Duty (BCD) concession under Sr. No. 448H, 485A, 490, 494A, 516C and 581B of Notification No. 50/2017-Customs, the filing added.
The company will file reply to the Show Cause Notice before the adjudicating authority. There is no impact on financial, operation or other activities of the company due to this show cause notice, the filing further added.
