POTTSTOWN, PA – Montgomery County Community College will soon be offering courses in the Tourism and Hospitality Management program on the Pottstown campus.

Students in the Tourism and Hospitality Management program learn the ins and out of the tourism industry. Students who graduate from the program can transfer to Gwynedd Mercy University in order to earn a bachelor’s degree in business. They can also transfer to Temple University, where they can transfer directly into the schools’ tourism and hospitality management program.

The program focuses on innovation, problem solving, social and emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, diversity, inclusion and inclusivity. The course will be offered in Pottstown starting this fall.

“What’s unique about the program is it’s designed for students to launch their career or transfer to four-year institution locally, regionally or nationally,” said Shawn Murray, Hospitality Management Assistant Professor, in a prepared statement. “Students have the opportunity to travel and work nationally practicing what they are exploring in the classroom or stay closer to home and have amazing hands-on learning experiences, with local firms such as the Fitler Club Philadelphia or Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center.”
