Minister directs Science tech, innovation Tv to start transmission

The Minister of Science ,Technology and Innovation, FMSTI, Senator Adeleke Mamora, has directed that the recently launched Science Technology and Innovation Television (STItv) should hit the airwaves before the end of year.

He stated this while on an inspection tour of the STI tv studio building at the National Space Research and Development Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja.

Senator Mamora who commended the STItv initiative, said the television station would be a veritable platform to inform, educate and entertain as well as publicize scientific discoveries, inventions, and achievements of the various parastatals under the ministry for the benefit of the common man.

Dr Mamora also said the vision of the station was to ensure effective dissemination of information on scientific and technological innovations in the sector.

He however appreciated the NASRDA Boss for his efforts towards the establishment of the TV and further directed that all stakeholders involved in the take off of the station to get to work and hit the ground running in line with the directive.

The Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency Dr Halilu Shaba who earlier conducted the Minister round expressed delight over the success recorded so far, saying the station would provide the avenue for professional and excellent dissemination of various activities of parastatals in the ministry; as well as research and scientific institutions in the country.

STI TV was established and launched during the Science and Technology Expo 2022 after which the temporary studio was successfully sited and built within the premises of NASRDA.
