Modi To Inaugurate, Launch Works Worth ₹5k Cr On Mar 12, Infra News, ET Infra

DHARWAD: March 12 will be a red-letter day in the history of Dharwad district as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone or dedicate developmental works worth Rs 5,000 crore.

Informing this to media persons after inspecting the new permanent campus of IIT-Dharwad that has come up in Mummigatti off Dharwad on Tuesday, Union parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi said the PM will inaugurate the new campus at 2pm on Sunday.

At a programme organised outside the IIT-Dharwad campus, Modi will also inaugurate the world’s longest railway platform which has been constructed in Hubballi railway station.

He will lay the foundation stone for Tupparihalla lift irrigation project. This project costs Rs 312 crore and work order for Rs 150 crore has been given. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Rs 250 crore Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Care and the Rs 1,200 crore Jal Jeevan Mission which provides tap water to 144 gram panchayats. He will inaugurate 295 Vivek classrooms constructed at a cost of Rs 42 crore. As many as 15 works worth Rs 353 crore under the Smart City project will be inaugurated.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the hi-tech sports complex coming up in Hubballi at a cost of Rs 166 crore and inaugurate the Hubballi – Hosapete rail line electrification project. PM Modi will address a public meeting, Joshi said and added that over two lakh people are expected to attend.
