More drunk drivers on the roads: Bay Village Police Blotter

Road rage, Wolf Road

On Dec. 26 at 6:07 p.m. a driver reported an incident of road rage. The incident occurred between Clague and Cahoon roads, and escalated when both drivers were stopped at the red light on Wolf and Cahoon roads.  The driver of the other car exited his car and shattered one of the complainant’s windows before leaving the area.

Drunk driving, Lake Road

On Dec. 28 at 1:17 a.m. an officer saw a driver slow down and stop near Pinewood Drive for an extended period of time. The officer pulled in behind the car and approached the driver.  While speaking with the driver, who claimed she was looking for directions to Strongsville, the officer suspected she had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were offered to the woman, but she refused.  The woman was subsequently arrested.

Drunk driving, Lake Road

On Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. a driver reported seeing a possible impaired driver heading westbound on Lake Road. The caller indicated the car was all over the road and had crossed the center line several times.  An officer caught up with the driver and stopped the car near Bradley Road.  After speaking with the 44-year-old driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and the 44-year-old Akron resident was arrested.

On Dec. 30 at 7:29 p.m. an officer stopped a driver for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 63-year-old Lakewood resident, the officer suspected she had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and the driver was arrested.

Disturbance, Hurst Drive

On Jan. 1 at 12:06 a.m. a resident reported someone was discharging fireworks in the area.  Officers responded to the area, but were unable to locate the source.

Disturbance, Aston Lane

On Jan. 1 at 12:25 a.m. a resident reported fireworks being discharged in the area.  Officers responded and found the individuals responsible on Bradley Road.  They were advised of the complaint and stopped for the night.

Drunk driving, Lake Road

On Jan. 1 at 1:01 a.m. an officer stopped a driver near Huntington Woods Parkway for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 39-year-old driver, the officer suspected she had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and the Avon Lake resident was arrested.

Threat, Bradley Road

On Jan. 1 at 9:20 p.m. a resident reported receiving a threatening phone call from an unknown party.  A report was filed and officers are investigating.
