After heavy rain, snow, and winds swept through the state overnight and left thousands without power Saturday morning, 129 customers in the northeastern and northwestern parts of Massachusetts remained in the dark Saturday evening.
A wind advisory with gusts up to 50 miles per hour had been in effect until 2 p.m. for eastern parts of the state, including Boston, Quincy, Dorchester, Plymouth, Barnstable, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, according to the National Weather Service. By late Saturday afternoon, much lower wind speeds, around 14 mph, were recorded at Logan International Airport.
Winds and heavy snow in some parts of the state caused power outages throughout the day, meteorologists said.
“There were some power outages in the western part of the state because of wet, heavy snow, but not in the eastern part of the state,” said Bill Simpson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Norton.

Two to 5 inches of snow fell across western parts of the state, while the eastern part had heavy rainfall, according to the National Weather Service. About 5 to 10 inches of snow accumulated in higher elevations, such as the northwestern part of the state including much of the Berkshires and Franklin County.

One to 2 inches of rain fell across the eastern part of the state, meteorologists said. A coastal flood advisory had been issued from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in eastern, northeastern, and southeastern parts of the state, but no flooding was reported, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures were in the mid-40s overnight and reached as high as 52 degrees in Greater Boston Saturday afternoon, according to Kristie Smith, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Norton.
Temperatures Sunday and Monday will remain in the 40s. Forecasters predict cloudy skies and breezy conditions Sunday and sunshine on Monday.
