MP Namgyal raises question on clean energy in Ladakh – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

NEW DELHI, Dec 2: The Member of Parliament of Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal raised Ladakh specific questions on clean energy in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament.
MP Ladakh raised several questions to the Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Power regarding the initiatives taken by the Central Government to promote clean energy and specifically asked about steps taken by the Government to develop solar energy for cooking purposes in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
In response to the region-specific question, it was informed that under Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative (LREI), the Government has provided financial support for the installation of 2750 numbers of dish-type solar cookers and 16 numbers of solar steam cooking systems in Ladakh.
