Myntra’s premium ethnic wear business growth doubles; metros and tier-1 cities emerge major contributors, ET Retail

Myntra on Thursday reported that growth in its premium ethnic wear category has doubled over the last year with 60 per cent of the contribution coming from metros and tier-1 cities.

The company’s premium ethnic wear segment starts at Rs 2500. The ethnic wear category houses more than 3.85 lakh styles from 1000 plus brands, said the company’s statement.

The fashion company said that they have been observing growth by onboarding more than 50+ brands under the premium ethnic wear segment. Some of the high-performing men’s premium ethnic wear brands include Manyavar and Tasva by Tarun Tahiliani.

Festivals, and special occasions including weddings, provide a huge opportunity for brands to come up with the latest offerings. According to industry reports, the women’s ethnic wear market is expected to touch $24 billion by 2025, indicating the endless possibilities that can be explored by ethnic wear brands in India.

Women’s ethnic wear emerged as one of the most popular categories shopped during the recently conducted 18th edition of End of Reason Sale (EORS).
