Nemcha calls on Prahlad, proposes value added infrastructure

Imphal: Manipur textiles, commerce and industry, and cooperation minister, Nemcha Kipgen on Wednesday called on Union minister of state for Food Processing Industries of India, Prahlad Singh Patel at his official residence, New Delhi.

Highlighting that fruits, vegetables, and spices of Manipur are having high quality and exportable unique value in the international market today, Nemcha apprised the Union MoS for food processing for special consideration for the development of food processing industries in Manipur.

She proposed for value addition Infrastructure to cover all the districts of the state to meet the huge demand and market of these fruits and vegetables in various parts of the world.

During the visit, Kipgen also handed over a proposal to Prahlad Singh Patel initiated by the chief minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh for the development of infrastructure in the food processing industry.

Textiles, commerce and industry commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jha accompanied the minister during the visit.
