Nifty, Sensex Close at Record High– Weekly closing report

We had mentioned in previous week’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex moving sideways. The major indices opened lower this week and closed with gain.

 

 

On Monday, the indices opened gap down and ended with loss. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,510 stocks advanced, 2,083 declined and 179 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 0.72, indicating slight weakness in broader markets.

 

On NSE, 58 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 69 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty IT and Nifty Realty were the biggest losers whereas Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Media were the biggest gainers. The broader market indices outperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap declining just 0.15% and BSE Small Cap ending in green.

 

Rupee ended at 81.84/$ as compared to Friday’s close of 81.69/$.

Mother Dairy has hiked full cream milk price by Rs 1 per liter and token milk price by Rs 2 per liter in Delhi-NCR.

 

 In insider Buying and Selling, Madhya Bharat Agro promoter sold 3,475 shares through open market. Ganga Forging promoter sold 250,000 shares through open market. Quess Corp promoter bought 50,000 shares through open market and Indo Amine promoter sold 15,000 shares through open market.

 

On Tuesday, the indices opened gap up and ended with gain. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,636 stocks advanced, 1,809 declined, and 163 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 0.90.

 

On NSE, 59 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 67 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty Realty was the only loser whereas Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Metal were the biggest gainers. BSE Midcap ended in line with their larger peers gaining 0.48% but BSE Small Cap underperformed closing 0.1% down.

 

Rupee ended at 81.67/$ as compared to Monday’s close of 81.84/$.

 

FSN E-Commerce (Nykaa) CFO (chief financial officer) has resigned with effect from 25th November. The stock closed 4.6% down.

 

KPR Mill’s 0.25% equity changed hands at Rs542 per share and the stock closed in red. Lemon Tree Hotel 0.28% equity changed hands at Rs93.05 per share, the stock closed in red. Max Financial’s 1.55% equity changed hands at Rs649 per share; the stock closed in red.

 

On Wednesday, the indices opened gap up and ended with gain. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,864 stocks advanced, 1,632 declined, and 131 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.14 indicating positive closing of most of the stock.

 

On NSE, 60 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 59 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty Metal and Nifty IT were the biggest losers whereas Nifty Media and Nifty PSU Bank were the biggest gainers. The broader market indices outperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small Cap gaining 0.2% and 0.54% respectively.

 

Rupee ended at 81.85/$ as compared to Tuesday’s close of 81.67/$. 

 

Shree Ram Proteins promoters sold net 34,050 shares through open market. Berger Paints promoters bought net 20,500 shares through open market. Indo Amines promoters sold net 21,000 shares through open market. KEI Industries promoters sold net 200,000 shares through open market. Orient Bell promoters bought net 1,464 shares through open market. KPIT Technologies promoters sold net 5,000 shares through open market.

 

Dhanlaxmi Bank Immediate relative sold net 525,482 shares through open market. Axita Cotton promoters sold net 306,283 shares through open market.

 

Vaxtex Cotfab promoters sold net 721,167 shares through open market. Lincoln Pharmaceuticals promoters bought net 62,500 shares through open market. 

 

Mirza International promoter had bought 1.45 lakh share via open market on 22 Nov. Indigo closed almost 4% higher after release of October aviation data. NBCC gained more than 11% on the back of huge volumes. Adani Enterprises shed more than 3% as the company’s plans of fund raising.

 

On Thursday, the indices opened gap up, and ended with gain to close around record highs. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,935 stocks advanced, 1,570 declined, and 130 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.23.

 

On NSE, 63 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 51 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty Consumer Durables was the loser whereas Nifty IT and Nifty Financial Services were the biggest gainer. The broader market indices underperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small Cap gaining 0.5% and 0.4% respectively. Nifty Bank touched new record high.

 

Rupee ended at 81.63/$ as compared to 81.85/$ on Wednesday.

 

ICIC Bank will acquire 10% stake in JV (joint venture) of IOC and Chennai Petro for Rs 50,000. ICICI Prudential will acquire 9% stake in the JV for Rs 45,000. HDFC Life will invest Rs55,000 for 11% stake.

 

In insider buying and selling, Shakti Pumps (India) promoters bought 27,000 shares through open market. Geojit Financial Services promoters sold 237,000 shares through open market. Geojit Financial Services Immediate relative bought 64,000 shares through open market. Usha Martin Education and Solutions promoters sold 194,732 shares through open market. Vaxtex Cotfab promoters sold 433,848 shares through open market.

 

In large trades, Alembic Pharma’s 0.16% equity changed hands at Rs600 per share. PB Fintech’s 1.6% equity changed hands at Rs401 per share. Delhivery’s 0.44% equity changed hands at Rs327 per share.

 

On Friday, the indices opened higher and ended with gain. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 2,044 stocks advanced, 1,473 declined, and 115 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.38.

 

On NSE, 75 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 32 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty FMCG were the biggest losers whereas Nifty Media and Nifty Realty were the biggest gainers. The broader market indices outperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small Cap gaining 0.77% and 0.69% respectively.

 

Rupee ended at 81.69/$ as compared to Thursday’s closed of 81.63/$.

 

Kirloskar Industries KMP sold 700 shares through open market. Vaibhav Global Promoters bought 4,000 shares through open market. Reliance Power Promoters sold 4,117,823 shares through open market. Almondz Global Securities Promoters bought 4,982 shares through open market. Globe International Carriers Promoters sold 198,000 shares through open market.

 

Stel Holdings Promoters bought 7,601 shares through open market. Dhanlaxmi Bank Immediate relative sold 65,000 shares through open market. Axita Cotton Promoters sold 199,873 shares through open market.

 

In large trades, Delhivery’s 0.27% equity changed hands at Rs331.25 per share. Indiabulls Housing Finance’s 0.55% equity changed hands at Rs136 per share.

Castrol India will acquire 7.09% stake in Ki Mobility Solutions.

 

NCLT Chennai has approved merger of IDFC Alternatives, IDFC Trustee and IDFC Projects.
