Nissan launched their first ever sub-4 meter compact SUV in the market last year. It was actually a game changer for Nissan in India and is currently the best selling product from Nissan in India. Nissan Magnite is a sub-4 meter SUV that competes with cars like Renault Kiger, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport in the segment. There is a decent amount of waiting period on this SUV and several examples are available in the used car market as well. People have also started customising it to their liking. Here we have a video, where a Nissan Magnite is driven on dangerous mountain road.

The video has been uploaded by mukesh gunjyal on his YouTube channel. Vlogger along with his two other friend drive on a Kailash Mansarover road in their new Nissan Magnite compact SUV. He shares his experience of driving the SUV in such conditions in this video. In this video, they are driving towards Chiyalekh in Uttarakhand.

Vlogger starts his journey as we all know, driving on a mountain road is quite risky in itself. The risk doubles when it has rained recently. When they started their journey, they got smooth tarmac but, after covering some distance, they started facing broken roads. Once they started climbing, the road had completely vanished and it was simply a path filled with loose rocks of different sizes.

Vlogger was driving quite carefully on these roads and it had a steep drop on one side and a mountain on the other. Slowly, the terrain started to change and they started facing difficulties. The rain that had poured a day before they started their trip had filled some of the parts with slush. Tracks created by construction vehicles were too deep for Nissan Magnite so with the help of one of the occupants inside the car, they carefully drove it out of the situation.

They faced similar issues several times in this trip. Then after covering more distance, the roads became narrow and the roads became steeper. Nissan Magnite is a front wheel drive vehicle and it started loosing grip. At one spot, the road was so slippery and steep and they had to reverse the vehicle several times before climbing. One of the occupant even got out and pushed the vehicle so that, it doesn’t loose traction.

The surface was so uneven that, the vlogger could not even drive fast as rocks would hit the bottom and damage the car. After driving through such tough roads, they finally reach their destination that is Chiyalekh in Uttarakhand. They did drove the SUV and crossed Chiyalekh but, the condition of the road was so bad that, they finally dropped the plan and got back.

Nissan Magnite seen here in the video is the regular naturally aspirated version. The 1.0 litre naturally aspirated version generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a manual gearbox only. Owner said, the SUV never felt underpowered, despite having a decent amount of ground clearance, rocks did hit under the cars several times. Overall, the ower was very happy with the way Nissan Magnite non-turbo version had performed with three passengers on board. driving on a mountain road is not something that we would actually recommend as these roads can be tricky to drive in a 2WD vehicle.
